I was the most “stuck” person, and the consummate caregiver. Honestly, I’ve been taking care of people for years and years. I’ve never expressed any of my feelings. THE WONDERFUL METAPHORS IN MY LIFE – PART 1

Recently, it occurred to me that metaphors have always been a part of my life. They have been especially useful with my writing.
There seems so be so many interesting coincidences in my life. While looking through cassettes of my original songs, I came across two, special tapes that were entitled: “Jason’s funeral,” and “Jason’s Unveiling.” I knew I did not want to listen to the funeral tape. However, I remembered that I had made a tape for the unveiling of his gravestone a year later. I had re-written several of my songs and recorded them on that tape. THE SAND AND THE SEA, TEN YEARS LATER

An image came to me. It was so clear. It was amazing. I felt like I was there. Here was what I told her. “I am sitting facing my daughter. We are on a patio overlooking the ocean at a villa, somewhere in Italy perhaps. It is ten years from now. I am very, very rich. We are traveling through Europe. Did you know I’ve hardly gone anywhere? I have never had a vacation that’s relaxing. It’s a beautiful day. There is an aqua ocean in the distance. It is sunny, and she and I are enjoying our trip together.” I continued to describe my vision to Connie. “My daughter looks confident and beautiful,” I said. “She is laughing and enjoying her life. She is amazed that my promise that I’d be successful actually happened. She didn’t believe it!” Continue reading →
