My story about the overgrown lemon tree in my backyard does not carry a song. It does, however, accompany a painting that I finished last week. Continue reading

YOU HOLD ME UP SO I WON’T FALL

Moving was so exhausting that it left every part of my body sore. Originally, I thought my post and writing would revolve around the experience of sleeping in my parents’ bed. I still had the rapid heartbeat in the darkness. As I lay there, I felt the thumping begin to settle down. A warm calmness enveloped me. It was so quiet and peaceful. HEALING THE DAUGHTER’S HEART

I had a flash. It was time for me to join the fourth support group in my life! I decided to call it ”Role Reversal with our Parents.” Actually, “Healing the Daughter’s Heart” was what ended up coming to mind. Only last night when my father was eating dinner at our house, did I realize how far things have switched. I actually admonished my dad to stop “spitting” corn. He always argued with me about this one. I was upset because his table habits have made all my children run from the table. Continue reading
