YOU ARE MY WINGS – PART 1

Of all the songs I’ve written, You Are My Wings is the most upbeat. It is one of the last songs I wrote before I stopped composing in 1981. The song is very enjoyable for me to play on my guitar. The guitar riff I composed is fairly complex and requires an open tuning. It is a love song, and I wrote it at a time when I longed for love. I found it not long after.

I’M NOT A POSTER CHILD ANYMORE

I don’t have to be a poster child anymore for bereaved parents! I don’t have to always be smiling, and I don’t have to prove to anyone that I’ve moved on. I can still cry and feel pain for not having my beautiful child to hold. I can still cry because I cannot see him grow up and have the life I thought he was entitled to. I may continue to cry for him when I am very old. Continue reading

CHILDHOOD DISAPPEARS

“Only Tears” represented a sense of finality for me about a chapter in my life that was ending. I knew it well when I wrote the song, and sharing the song with my friends that were leaving on world travels made the song even more poignant. My song was a goodbye to my college friends.
