MY TRUE COMPANION
As a writer, my mood and how I see things is very much affected by when I write. To actually write about feelings as events occur is extremely touching for me. I have raw emotions that I am certain other people could relate to. Writing something later on is completely different, because I am more detached. HOW SPECIAL YOU WERE
It was eighteen years since I had last moved. My art studio held many areas for me to sort through. I dreaded the process of packing, and I found many excuses to put it off. Initially, it was excruciatingly difficult to tear myself away from working on my audio book and songs. I was so close to finishing everything. But packing was the only way I would be able to move forward so I could exit the tunnel I was in. Finally, I had to accept that I would not finish my book before moving. Continue reading
WHEN THE CLOSET IS BARE
Lately, I was struggling because my door seemed overwhelming. With my eyesight compromised, everything was harder. Although I knew it was courageous, going through the front door to end my marriage was probably the biggest step I’d ever taken in my entire life. It was hard to be patient with my eyesight. It had been several months since I announced that I wanted to separate, and I was still sleeping in the same bed with my husband. I couldn’t think of moving until all of my eye surgeries were behind me. But once I went through my door, I would be leaving the pain behind that confronted and assaulted me on a daily basis.
