WE GREW UP SO FAST
It was such a lovely morning. I was in the garden area of my mother’s nursing facility. In the cool shade, I sat with Joni, my mother and her caregiver, Miriam. I had brought along my guitar. The warmth and love between all of us bathed me. I was with three, very special women. My mother was the mainstay. I absolutely adored Miriam; her love for my mother made her like my sister. And Joni, was completely connected to me. This wonderful morning was Joni’s idea. I had asked her last week where she wanted to eat to celebrate her birthday. EVERY TIME I SEE A SMILE
On Sunday, I picked up a brand new Mac computer! My childhood friend, Steve, helped me decided which one to order. I had the computer shipped to him first so he could prepare it for me. I sent him a backup drive to work with. Steve set it up and added significant and fantastic music software for me. There was no way I could ever repay him for all the extras he added for me. I’M TRYING TO BE STRONG
I loaded the groceries into my car and listened to my most recent song recordings. It was when I was driving home from the market, that I allowed my pain to erupt. I knew I had not written for a while and that it was time for me to write for therapy. But I wasn’t sure how to write about what I was feeling.
It was so deep. Then it hit me. I knew exactly what I would write about. It was about setting a soul free. Continue reading
