A DAUGHTER’S LOVE – PART 5

This is Part 5 of my email excerpts. My mother was on a ventilator for almost two months starting in December of last year. I was her advocate and her support. The process was exhausting, and became the catalyst for an amazing transformation that occurred in me after my mom recovered. Toward the end of this section, my mom was doing well with the weaning process. She was being readied for transfer to a respiratory program at another hospital called Barlow. It was highly recommended. Unfortunately, her experience at Barlow turned out to be a nightmare. I watched her waste away as she lost 25 pounds in a very short time. Continue reading

NOW WE ARE OLDER

“Only Tears” was the second to last song that I wrote, before I gave up my music for thirty years. The very last song that I wrote was the one I played at my own wedding, “Song of Joy.” It was for all of my wonderful friends that enriched my life before I got married. I’ve kept in touch with many of my childhood and college friends. Out of nowhere, came the inspiration for me to add another verse to this song. Continue reading

A DAUGHTER’S LOVE – PART 3

Writing about my mother while she was ill became the catalyst for my blog. Of course, I didn’t know that at the time. I’ve faced many challenges in my life, and the experience of seeing my mother recover was truly miraculous. The other miracle was my own recovery.
