WITH THE PASSAGE OF YEARS

Yesterday was quite joyous for me as I recorded a very special song, “Only Tears.” I was very happy with the way I sang it, as well as the arrangement. In a few days, it will be Cheryl’s birthday. She died in February of 2008 from breast cancer. I have wondered what songs I might write once I’ve finished “unloading” all my former musical compositions of my youth. It was huge for me that I sat down and wrote new lyrics a week ago. I wrote a completely new, last verse for Only Tears. Continue reading

NOW WE ARE OLDER

“Only Tears” was the second to last song that I wrote, before I gave up my music for thirty years. The very last song that I wrote was the one I played at my own wedding, “Song of Joy.” It was for all of my wonderful friends that enriched my life before I got married. I’ve kept in touch with many of my childhood and college friends. Out of nowhere, came the inspiration for me to add another verse to this song. Continue reading

THE MUSIC IN MY HEART – PART 1

My songs are unfolding faster and faster now. My voice has been improving and my heart has been lifted so high that I never dreamed it would be possible. My heart starts racing when I think about this upcoming weekend and my performing at two Border’s stores. My unfolding journey is more amazing than I ever imagined. I am honest when I say that it doesn’t matter where it’s going. I just don’t want it to ever end.

WHAT YOU’VE MEANT TO ME – PART 1

When I play those old love songs I can get very nostalgic. “What You’ve Meant to Me,” reflected my uncertainty. I was young, fickle, and not ready to be serious with Michael. Not long after I wrote that song, I broke up with him.
