MY HEART’S DESTINY

Recently, I was able to tell a story about how many interesting prophecies there were in my life. Not only were these interesting coincidences within my art, but they also popped up in my creation of music, as well. Perhaps many of them were sad prophecies, but in the end – I am thankful I can view my life’s journey as meaningful and inspiring.

The magazine cover for the painting I gave Jason’s cardiologist.

An illustration assignment done while in Nancy’s class.

My first seashell painting.

In 1992, my Snicker’s Bar illustration won the gold medal for the “unpublished category”  at the annual Society of Illustrators, Los Angeles show.

My 5-year-old son, Jason, was with me when I received that award. He died later that year.

I read this weeks ago (I think), but I’ve been so busy with all of the things, that I forgot I kept the tab open, so I would remember to watch your storytelling.

I slowed down today, and watched!

Peeing in a bucket is priceless lol but I totally understand. It’s also so amazing the advice people give to us, based on gender, etc., but then it ended up being a necessity for your son’s care. This is amazing to me, as well as the heart painting.

I OVER LOVE this story of how you got your first paid position as an artist ❤

Finally, I hope you don't mind me saying that you've gotten really good at telling these stories about and with your art.

Aw, thanks for this thoughtful comment, Katherin. I thought the bucket part might have been a little “TMI.”
However, after finishing your book this weekend, I’ve learned that there’s no limit to expressing the truth and our humanness. WOW! I learned so much about you and I feel honored to have connected with you even more. You’re an incredible writer with a lot to say. Please continue writing. I didn’t want your story to end. (And PS. I assume Dwight is Brent?)
