The three vocal songs for this medley carry a theme of looking up into the sky with sadness and awe. Each song has an acoustic guitar-based arrangement performed and sang by Judy.
Below are the individual songs, as well as a link to a page with more about each song (accessed by clicking on the thumbnail image).
“Angel in the Sky” is a deeply spiritual song that Judy composed while longing for her 5-year-old son, Jason. He will always be her “lovely light, just not in sight.”
“With Me” was composed when Judy’s father was dying, and it gave her great comfort. This is a very spiritual song, because it also could apply to God being there when she was born. The last line is: “You’re with me, as I grow old.” Judy knew her dad would always be with her for the rest of her life.
“Somewhere I Can’t See” helped Judy deal with anticipatory grief shortly before both her parents died. Her determination not to allow grief to turn to bitterness has been purely guided by love. Everything she has gone through has led her to a beautiful place where she is extremely grateful!
